How to find a cheap gas to run an apartment in Mumbai
Mumbai, March 26 (ANI): In India, one can buy a home for about Rs. 25 lakh in the first week of March and another for Rs. 50 lakh in six weeks.
This can save a family of five up to Rs. 1,500 a month.
However, the price of gas for a one-bedroom apartment can be anywhere between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 4,000 a month, according to data provided by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to Business Standard.
The average price of a one bedroom apartment in the city is between Rs 1,100 and Rs 2,300, but even for apartments that are larger, the cost of gas can be as high as Rs. 3,000.
The MMR said that prices for gas have gone up by almost 10% over the past two years.
While prices for gasoline have gone down by 10% since 2014, the MMR data indicates that the gas price of apartments in Mumbai has increased by 10.3% over that time.
The price of fuel in Mumbai is a matter of record, with a per capita consumption of just Rs. 15,900.
Mumbai has a population of about 3.9 million.
In the past year, Mumbai has experienced a surge in its electricity prices, which are up by over 40% in the past six months.
MMR director general Pradip Malhotra said that the MMRS has been collecting data on the price and availability of fuel and has recommended to the government that it take action to bring down the prices.
