NJ Gas Prices: Fuel Cell Fuel Tanks Coming Soon!
Gasoline tank prices are expected to spike for the first time in three years, according to data from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
The department is looking for fuel cell fuel tanks that have been tested and certified by a company, according a release.
The tanks can cost between $50,000 and $150,000.
A total of 656 fuel cell tanks have been certified, according the release.
Gasoline prices in New Jersey were already at their highest level since the mid-2000s.
The state had been selling fuel cell vehicles since 2010, according in the release, when New Jersey began selling vehicles that use the technology to power electric vehicles.
The gas tank prices were already on the rise in March 2017, with a spike of $2.20 per gallon, according data from AAA.
That spike was a third of a cent higher than the average gasoline price of $1.93 per gallon in March.
