Which gas stations are open for business in Florida?
As winter approaches, we take a look at which gas stations in Florida are open.
Here’s what you need to know about gas stations that are open in Florida during the holiday season:Gas stations in the Sunshine State have a long history of service to the public.
But it wasn’t always that way.
In the 1800s, gas stations were mostly private businesses.
But over the years, they began to become public properties, with owners owning their facilities and then selling them.
In 1976, the first major national gas company, General Motors, bought Florida’s largest gas station, the Sunshine Gas Station in Orlando, for $1.7 million.
The company began operating gas stations throughout the state.
Now, there are a number of gas stations within the Sunshine City, which covers the towns of Lakeland and Daytona Beach.
There are six of them:The Sunshine Gas station in Lakeland.

But the Sunshine County government has been slow to approve them.
A 2012 ballot initiative sought to require the approval of every new gas station and pump station proposed by the county.
The county, which includes the two major cities of Daytona Beach and Lakeland, rejected the proposal, calling it overly burdensome and unnecessarily expensive.
The Sunshine County Board of Commissioners voted to end that requirement, saying the gas stations should be subject to public review and consideration.
The Board also made it clear that any proposed station would have to be approved by the local governments and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The state’s environmental review system also allows for public comment and review of any proposal before it goes through.
